#NationalMensGroomingDay is on August 17th! While putting an efficient and effective grooming routine together can be tricky, we are going to give you five main things you need to do before stepping out to look your most dapper self.
Moisturize with an SPF
It’s so important to keep your skin hydrated during summer months, all while protecting it from the sun. Pick up a moisturizer that contains a SPF of 15+ and apply 2-3 pumps to your face, neck, and ears to avoid those painful burns! If you have oily skin, while you may think your skin doesn’t need hydration during the summer, it’s actually more important that you do apply a moisturizer than someone with dry skin.
With summer comes lots of sweat, and with the oils that will build up in your hair, opt for a clarifying shampoo to help break down the build up on your scalp. Use it only 1-2 times a week and on the other days use a moisturizing shampoo, so your scalp doesn’t dry out.
No Shave November is a few months away, but, until then, it’s essential that you take care of your beard. Whether you are going to the barber to get a fresh trim, or at home using your razor, it’s key to keep your beard looking maintained. If you are only going to trim up your beard, make sure you use a beard oil to keep your beard maintained.
Having anything in your smile is an absolute no! Take 2-3 minutes in the morning and after any meals to floss and make sure the food that your toothbrush missed doesn’t stay in your teeth all day. If you want to take the extra step, use mouth wash for an extra fresh mouth!
Smell good all summer long with a fresh new cologne! Look for a cologne with notes of deep florals, natural earth tones, or citrus. Spray only 1-3 spritzes, so that you, and others, aren’t overpowered and overwhelmed by the scent. If you want your cologne to last longer, before putting on your clothes, spray the scent right onto your skin. It will last longer by being right on your skin.
